Analytics

Overview

The Analytics page allows you to control:

Anonymous Diagnostic Data — Whether anonymized diagnostic data is sent to Peer Software.

PeerIQ Analytics — Whether analytics data is sent from PeerGFS to PeerIQ, and which types of analytics are included.

PeerIQ is a virtual appliance–based analytics engine that provides dashboards for monitoring the health and performance of PeerGFS and the replication environment.  PeerIQ must be deployed and reachable to receive analytics data.

When PeerIQ Analytics is enabled, you can configure the following analytics types:

File System Analytics (FSA) - File System Analytics performs scheduled weekly scans of the file system and sends the results to PeerIQ. These scans provide a point-in-time view of file system state for analysis and reporting.

File Activity Analytics (FAA) - File Activity Analytics collects and transmits file activity data to PeerIQ. It supports two levels of data collection:

Summary-level (real-time aggregated statistics) — Aggregated counts of file activity events.

Detailed real-time activity — Event-level file activity records sent as they occur.

Supported job types include File Collaboration, File Replication (source sites), and File Synchronization.

Note: Proactive Monitoring is configured on the Proactive Monitoring subpage.  It is not enabled or managed from the Analytics page.

For more information about the data collected, see Analytics in Advanced Topics.
