SMB Access Configuration

SMB access configuration enables a Linux Agent to access data on the file server using the SMB file sharing protocol.  It is required in the following situations when creating a multi-protocol job:

Synchronizing Windows-style permissions

Synchronizing both Windows-style permissions and Linux-styled permission (mixed permissions)

Using Nutanix Files.

 
To configure SMB access settings:

1.Select Open Preferences from the Tools menu.

2.Select SMB Access Configuration in the navigation tree.

3.Click Create.

4.In the New SMB Access Configuration dialog, supply the requested information.

Description

Enter a description of the intended use of the configuration.

Domain Username

Enter the domain username in the format: Domain\:Username

Domain Password

Enter the password for the domain account.

5.Click OK.

6.Click Apply and Close or Apply.
