SMB access configuration enables a Linux Agent to access data on the file server using the SMB file sharing protocol. It is required in the following situations when creating a multi-protocol job:
•Synchronizing Windows-style permissions
•Synchronizing both Windows-style permissions and Linux-styled permission (mixed permissions)
•Using Nutanix Files.
To configure SMB access settings:
1.Select Open Preferences from the Tools menu.
2.Select SMB Access Configuration in the navigation tree.
3.Click Create.
4.In the New SMB Access Configuration dialog, supply the requested information.

Enter the domain username in the format: Domain\:Username |

Enter the password for the domain account. |
5.Click OK.
6.Click Apply and Close or Apply.
