Overview

File Collaboration jobs provide distributed teams with a fast and efficient solution to collaborate with shared project files. These jobs synchronize participant files in real-time, incorporating distributed locking to prevent version conflicts.  This functionality ensures data consistency across geographically dispersed locations.

Unlike centralized file collaboration solutions that can result in slow access speeds over wide area networks (WANs), a File Collaboration job replicates shared project files to each office location in a distributed environment.  This design guarantees end users experience high-speed local area network (LAN) access to shared regardless of file size, minimizing latency and improving overall responsiveness.  Integrated distributed file locking eliminates the risk of version conflicts, maintaining data integrity and simplifying administration.

By keeping frequently accessed ("hot") data local, File Collaboration maximizes user productivity and reduces WAN bandwidth consumption.  Proximity to users, their applications, and computer resources delivers optimal performance from a physical perspective, minimizing I/O bottlenecks.  Robust file locking guarantees consistent versions, facilitating seamless collaboration and reducing the need for manual conflict resolution.
